DESIGN
Shinsegae (SSG), South Korea's renowned luxury department store, sought to revolutionize the grocery shopping experience. Our team was challenged to translate their ambition for a cutting-edge food emporium into an environment that moved beyond mere transaction, instead fostering an immersive exploration of authentic culinary traditions. My responsibilities included the creation of a cohesive icon system, design of packaging labels, experimentation with various packaging materials (including paper and burlap), and the implementation of clear and engaging store signage guided by vendor-provided floor plans. A particularly interesting challenge was the integration of bilingual typography—effectively combining Korean and English typefaces to create a visually harmonious and user-friendly space.
